What else would I talk about?

Filed under: Uncategorized — Sharyl @ 3:23 pm

So Sunday’s concert was awesome, rad even. We were on the floor and the show was great. it was super cold out and we had to park 6 miles away, i coulda walked from home and got there faster. thats really all i have to say about that i guess. i woulda thought i had more to say about it but i guess i don’t.

So its like -96C here right now, but the sun is shinning!! I even went tanning today and it barely warmed me up! With the weather being so crappy lately all I want to do is crawl under a blanket with a good (required) book and not move until its time to go to bed, but i have to work like every night this week!! I had forgot that i had to work last night and during the afternoon i decided to do laundry! that was ok, then i realized i had to work and i have no pants! so last night in the -53C windchill i was cleaning off my car in a skirt and not very wintery shoes. It wasn’t as bad as you might think.

Mom decided that work just wasn’t for her today, so shes lying around watching soap operas or something like that. Derek is suntanning half way around the world, Brad and Karin and experiencing spring showers, Dad is gallavanting around Europe (bless his heart for leaving me the garage door opener), so it looks as though it’s just Shannon and I who have to go out in this horrible weather! What does it take for Alberta to declare a state of emergency like they do in the states? I mean its like -25C in the states and there is a state of emergency, meanwhile here there are 6 year olds getting their tongues stuck to the playground equipment during recess! Canadians do kick a*s!!!! let me tell you!!

ok I’m about done! I really do hope everyone survives this winter.

another week gone….almost

Filed under: Uncategorized — Sharyl @ 3:15 pm

well, almost another week is down the drain. School is actually going very well this semester, i’m keeping up and i think i’m actually ahead of the game. i’ve been working ahead as much as possible so i don’t have to bring every book i own on the plane for reading week - so far its just one thing i’ll need to work on then. thats my soci theory essay, and brad should show some interest in that anyway. i just need to pick a contemporary social issue that he would love so he can help me.

i talked to Shannon last night and she told me that ‘Derek will now be home in less days than he’s been away’, i think it was more complicated than that but the just is that he at least hit the half way mark sometime this week. and she is comming here this weekend so i just might see her. and then there is the nickleback concert this sunday! busy weekend! work, work, shannon, concert, and homework somewhere in there (if there is time)!

whatever, anyway i should go cause i have a class in a couple of minutes and i need to meet sarah so we can get a good enough seat! haha! i need to be in the PLZ (prime learning zone)!!! HAHA!!!!!

My brother is leaving me

Filed under: Uncategorized — Sharyl @ 3:04 pm

Yep, today (sometime - i don’t actually know when) my big brother is leaving me to go to Austrailia! He will be there for something like 3 weeks doing work related stuff. He told me that he was going to send me a live giant deadly spider. I don’t believe him because while he doesn’t fear them as much as i do i still know he doen’t have the guts to look at one and buy it let alone actually send it - besides i think it goes against some law. Remember that episode of the Simpsons where Bart brings a frog into a foriegn country. look at the consequences. However, if a package does arrive for me from my lovely brother i will put it outside or in the freezer until he gets back and comes for a visit and then he can open it for me!

I’m starting to get back into the routine of school again, i’m actually already starting some research. isn’t the wierd?! I usually leave that untill the week before everything is due. But i am going to be visiting my other brother in February so I don’t want to be too stressed when I’m out there so I thought I would get a bit of a head start.

anyway I think I should start thinking about going to class pretty soon here.

Fly safely!

Back to School

Many of you who read this also read my brothers web page and know that he is experiencing ‘winter’ out there in vancouver. Here in good old alberta we are having january. Whats the difference? Easy..it has been hovering between -25 and -35 for about a week now, thats with windchill, and we are going bussiness as usual! Its not snowing but the streets are icy and people are having a pretty rough time with their cars. Some won’t start, some sound like a 747 going down the street, some squeel, some get the doors nearly busted off by the stupid wind and have to get a little part fixed so the door will stay open or closed and not make noise whenever it moves. But in general I think it is being handled quite nicely out here in Alberta.

Oh and yes, school is back in. which just means that in this wonderful weather I can’t lay in bed and watch movies all day and not have to worry about the cold, it means that I have to get up really early start my car 10 minutes before i want to go anywhere (waste of gas) give myself 5 extra minutes cause of stupid people who think that when it is cold outside the universal speed limit is 20 km/hr (not joking), dress in 16 layers and go to school where they briefly tell you what they will be telling you in more detail for the next 4 months!

Speaking of, I have a class to get to pretty soon here! But I do feel sorry for you Brad, all that working from home must be exhausting.

Happy 2004

Filed under: Uncategorized — Sharyl @ 7:27 pm

I hope everyone had a fun and safe new years eve. Mine was very fun! Thats all I will say.

I’m very optomistic about 2004! I’ve had some very good times in 2003 and the way I see it, it can only get better (because I want it too). I changed my hair, I have only one semester left in Red Deer, and this year can only bring new and exciting things. I don’t think I’ve been this optomistic in a long time!!! How does everyone else feel about 04????
